02 · Summer
Water and mountain
Long days of mountain lakes and trails, and the reward on the way back: a pool at 22 degrees with views over the valley and something cool at the bar-restaurant.
Rafting, kayaking, canyoning, mountain biking and paragliding, all booked without leaving the campsite. Animaneto for the little ones.

The golden valley
The forests along the Ésera turn copper and everything slows down. The serene season: low light, silence and the campsite almost to yourself.

Cerler, the highest elevation in Aragón, a quarter of an hour away. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing at the Llanos del Hospital. And back home, the fireplace at La Borda.

The Benasque valley
The heart of the Aragonese Pyrenees, with the Aneto as its roof. What to do in each season, what's worth knowing before you head up and where to check the official information.
May – October
Hiking and mountain lakes
The GR-11 climbs up the Estós valley from the campsite gate. From La Besurta start the Forau de Aigualluts, La Renclusa and the ascent of the Aneto. More than a hundred mountain lakes in the Posets-Maladeta natural park.
March – September, depending on flow
Whitewater and air
The Ésera is among the best in Spain for rafting, kayaking and canyoning. Add mountain biking, via ferratas, climbing and paragliding over the valley. From June to September you can book it all without leaving the campsite.
December – April
Snow: Cerler and the Llanos
Aramón Cerler, a quarter of an hour away: 79 km of slopes and the highest elevation in the Aragonese Pyrenees (2.630 m). Up the valley, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing at the Llanos del Hospital, at the foot of the Maladeta.
All year round
Spas, villages and culture
The Baños de Benasque for a rest day, the old towns of Benasque and Anciles a stroll away, and Cerler, the highest village in the Aragonese Pyrenees (1.540 m). A cultural calendar all year round.
Before heading out into the mountains
Access to the park in summer
From 20 June to 13 September you can't drive up to La Besurta, Vallibierna or Espigantosa: there's a shuttle bus from Benasque and the Vado del Hospital (1,50–3 €, ticket on board, cash only). For the Aneto, the first bus leaves before dawn.
Distances from the campsite
Benasque, 3 km away. Cerler, a quarter of an hour away. Llanos del Hospital, around 13 km away. The bus to the natural park leaves from Benasque.

Supermarkets, a pharmacy, a health centre, cash machines and the valley's tourist office, all 3 km from the campsite.

Benasque
The valley's capital, a stroll from the campsite: a historic centre from the 15th to the 17th century, the church of Santa María la Mayor and the Renaissance palace of the Counts of Ribagorza.

Estós valley
The glacial valley that begins next to the campsite. The classic route climbs the GR-11 to the Estós refuge: around 19 kilometres there and back with 980 metres of ascent.

Forau de Aigualluts
The Aneto's meltwater is swallowed underground at this sinkhole and reappears 4 kilometres away, in the Arán valley, on its way to the Garonne. Norbert Casteret proved it in 1931 with fluorescein.

Ibón de Cregüeña
The largest glacial lake in the Pyrenees and one of the deepest, at almost 100 metres, surrounded by the Maladeta massif. A demanding high-mountain route.

Cerler
The highest inhabited village in the Aragonese Pyrenees (1.540 m) and the ski resort with the highest elevation in Aragón, up to the 2.630 metres of the Gallinero.

Llanos del Hospital
Around 13 kilometres up the valley, the gateway to the high mountains: a Nordic centre with cross-country skiing, ski-touring and snowshoeing circuits at the foot of the Maladeta.

A grassy clearing among the pines where you choose where to wake up: beside the murmur of the Ésera, in the shade of a fir tree or facing the three-thousanders. By car
From Huesca or Lleida, head towards Barbastro and from there take the N-123 and the A-139 up the Ésera valley to km 63,5, just before Benasque.

Before you book
Frequently asked questions
Yes, on pitches and in bungalows (maximum 2 pets per accommodation; declare them when booking or, at the latest, at check-in). They aren't allowed in the rooms, apartments or hostel. Assistance dogs have free access to any accommodation, and we have an agility area and a dog shower.
Open fires directly on the ground are prohibited. You can use the shared covered barbecues (charcoal only) or a camping-gas stove on your pitch, always subject to the seasonal restrictions set by the Government of Aragón.
There are pitches with and without an electrical connection. If you book with electricity, bring an extension lead of at least 15 metres. There are also water points and grey-water drainage for caravans and motorhomes. One thing though: charging electric vehicles at the pitch sockets or on the campsite's facilities is not allowed.
An equipped kitchen, bathroom, heating, TV, fridge, microwave and porch, with bed linen and towels included. In the hostel, bed linen and towels are not included.
The pool, the supermarket and the entertainment run from June to September. The bar-restaurant also opens at Easter, Christmas and Carnival.
